About the Concept of the "Dezincification"

“The planner/designer/inventor” are not just a Buzz words it simply means to make a product robust.

Robust is resistance to all forces behind its failure to perform, A robust product is a reliable product.

Robust product has robust material, in case of brass the key failure mode is material loses strength in applications exposed or contact with solutions above PH of 8, this could be Sea Salt, Salt Marsh the prolonged exposure leads to a phenomenon called as Dezincification, which means Zinc content in the copper alloy is replaced or re-positioned by copper which Originally occupied before becoming an alloy ( BRASS).

Dezincification shows as red spots on surface, which makes the material porous, weak and surface cannot be restored by cleaning and polishing, results in leaks, breakage of a fitting, coupler and ultimately failure of a piping system, hydraulic system. This can occur in domestic plumbing where the water is harder with Higher Chlorine content.

Brass Made Reliability Robust:

Solution is simple use Brass with less than 15% Zinc Content, which means it has more copper, Aluminum brass which less susceptible to Dezincification, which means it can withstand high chlorine solutions, Salty environments. This also states that Aluminum Brass or Nickel Brass facilitates a longer life of Fittings, Couplers made of brass, prevents from cracking, being porous due to lack of strength.

Copper with increased arsenic content do help the situation, this is called “Fail THE Failure” which has other side of coin called as “ Reliability”.

Revaluing the Value:

We at www.inventorygain.com or www.inventory-deal.com will give solutions to such different situations by “Failing THE Failure” and by “making the Tough Tougher” using “ resourceful sources”. We apply effective Materials engineering.

Our Company is not just a E-commerce platform to do business, it is also an ENGINEERING PLATFORM. So please optimize your Resource using us as your SOURCE and let us march in the marketplace with a GREAT FORCE.
