Cut-Off Machine - Features And Applications

Cut-Off Machine:

An ‘Abrasive Saw’, also known as ‘Cutoff Saw Machine’ is a ‘Power Tool’ which is typically used to cut hard materials, such as metal bars, ceramic tiles, and Concrete. The cutting action is performed by a rough surface abrasive disc, similar to a grinding wheel.

Specifically speaking, this is not a cutting saw, as it does not use the regularly shaped-sharp edged blade for cutting. An abrasive disc grinds the metal surface bit by bit repeatedly to cut apart.

These saws are available in a number of models; some are:

Table Top: This kind of cutoff machine is mounted on a table and is fixed to the table for stability while working. Generally used for cutting tiles and metals.

Walk behind Models: These machines are larger saws which use a stand or small cart to cut into asphalt, concrete materials and pipe work on construction work.

Free Hand: It is a free hand portable saw a machine that can be easily held in hand. The motor is near the operator, with the blade at the far end of the saw machine and a handle to move as per the cut needed.

The Cutting abrasive saws typically made of complex friction circular disc blades to cut through the steel material. These discs are consumable items as they wear throughout the cutting process. Discs are typically 14 inches (360 mm) in diameter and 7⁄84 inches (2.8 mm) thick.

A larger saws use 410 mm (16 inches) diameter blades. Some are special discs are available for cutting stainless steel & metal bars. Abrasive blades use super-abrasive blades made of Cubic Boron Nitride and Diamond, which are more durable than conventional abrasive materials.

Features:

1. Fiberglass sheets on both sides for durability & safety.
2. Has 30 to 40 horsepower Engine with anti-vibration technology.
3. Diamond or CBN blades give the smooth cut & finish.
4. High cutting Efficiency.

Applications:

1. In cutting metal rods.
2. In making Aluminium Furniture.

Electric Chain Saw - Features And Applications

Electric Chain Saw:

An ‘Electric chain Saw’ is a powerful, handheld, mechanical saw which cuts with a set of sharp teeth attached to a rotating chainsaw that runs along a guide bar of a machine. It is widely used in cutting or sawing of trees, woods, tree felling, harvesting of firewood and many other activities.

In Chainsaws machine a long chain that runs along a guide bar has sharp curved teeth attached all along the chain that cut repeatedly through the material leaving sawdust. This technique is used as a tool in chainsaw mills. Some specialized chainsaws are used for cutting concrete or asphalt.

There are various parts in Chain Saw machine:

Engine: The powerful Engine in the chainsaw makes the cutting faster. An electric motor is driven by an electric power cord with a rated Input Power by 2,000W. These have special engines that are designed in such a way that they may be operated in different positions, upside-down, or tilted 90 degrees.

Guide Bar: A long bar on which a chainsaw runs is typically 16 to 36 inches in length. The guide bar has a round end made of alloy-steel with high wear-resistant.

Gauge: The lower part of chainsaw runs in the gauge; here lubricating oil is taken by the chain to the other end. This is an important mechanism.

Grease Holes: Through this hole, grease is filled in a small tank which keeps the sprocket well lubricated.

Cutting Chain: The each segment in the chain has small curved sharp cutting teeth. The teeth are made of chromium-plated steel that is attached on either side & one on the top of a chainsaw.

The Features of Electric Chain Saw:

1. Quick stops super chain brake.
2. Cuts faster with power rated 2000 Watts.
3. Automatic inbuilt oiling system.
4. Low noise & vibrations.

Demolition Hammer And Its Various Types - Features And Applications

Demolition Hammer:

The ‘Demolition Hammer’, also known as ‘Jack Hammer’ is an ‘Electromechanical Power Tool’ that has a hammer with a sharp chisel end. Handheld Jackhammer is generally powered by electric motors, but some are powered by compressed air. Larger demolition hammers are usually hydraulic powered, such as rig mounted hammers used on construction machinery. They are typically used to break concrete items, rock, pavement and large stones.

A demolition hammer is operated by an electric motor where it drives the internal hammer up & down. The hammer is first driven to hit the material and then goes back to the original position to repeat the cycle. The hammer hits at a great force to the material, but its effectiveness or impact depends on how much force the user applies on the tool. It is commonly used as a hammer to break or chip the hard surface of a rock in demolition works or in construction sites.

The types of Demolition hammers are:
