Demolition Hammer And Its Various Types - Features And Applications

Demolition Hammer:

The ‘Demolition Hammer’, also known as ‘Jack Hammer’ is an ‘Electromechanical Power Tool’ that has a hammer with a sharp chisel end. Handheld Jackhammer is generally powered by electric motors, but some are powered by compressed air. Larger demolition hammers are usually hydraulic powered, such as rig mounted hammers used on construction machinery. They are typically used to break concrete items, rock, pavement and large stones.

A demolition hammer is operated by an electric motor where it drives the internal hammer up & down. The hammer is first driven to hit the material and then goes back to the original position to repeat the cycle. The hammer hits at a great force to the material, but its effectiveness or impact depends on how much force the user applies on the tool. It is commonly used as a hammer to break or chip the hard surface of a rock in demolition works or in construction sites.

The types of Demolition hammers are:

1. Pneumatic: It is a pneumatic hammer that uses a compressed air as a power source.
2. Electromechanical or Electro pneumatic: This uses an electric motor as a power source.
3. Hydraulic: This uses the hydraulic motor driving a sealed pneumatic hammer system.

The Some of the Typical Features are:

1. Low weight
2. Impact rating up to 3,200r/m.
3. Polygon chisels for high breaking performance.
4. Active Vibration Reduction (AVR) system reduces vibration greatly.
5. Low noise.
6. Easy to fix various bits/chisels.

The Some of the Typical Applications are:

1. In demolition of house concrete roof.
2. Demolition of rocks.
3. Drilling in the mining areas.
4. Demolition of buildings.
5. Chipping of rocks.
6. Drilling a blast hole in large rocks.
