Roller Bearings:
The “Roller Bearings” is a type of mechanical bearing that uses ‘Cylindrical’ or ‘Barrel’ shaped rolling elements to support the separation between the rotating parts of the bearing. They can bear heavier loads than ball bearings because of the greater contact area between races and rollers, but cannot handle high-speed rotation. The roller bearings have linear contact at the rolling surfaces which slows the speed for larger load carrying capability.
1. Cylindrical
2. Tapered
3. Spherical
4. Thrust
5. Needle
1. Used in Electric motors and power tools.
2. For Conveyor belts, machine tools and power generator.
3. It’s a choice of Railway wheels, trucks and mining equipment.
4. In Gear drive clutch release and machine tools.
5. Wrist watches, wall clocks and turbines.
