A “Bushing” is generally a Metal or Plastic piece that is threaded on both sides or inside and outside circumference of a material. It fits into a larger pipe coupling so that a small length of pipe can fit up to it in Tee Junction. The bushings are available in different combinations like Steel, Brass, PVC, Copper etc.
The “Hexagonal Head Bushing” in a piping system is a type of pipe fitting used to securely connect one bigger NPT (National Pipe Thread) size fitting into a smaller NPT size fitting. In other words, these bushings are featured as Female NPT threads on one end & Male NPT threads on the other. Hexagonal head can be tightened using simple hand tools.The ‘Bushings’ are made up of good quality metals with corrosion resistant for controlling low pressure flow piping needs. One size reduction hex head should not be deployed where they might be subjected to external heavy loads & forces, as it can handle only internal pressure.
